Holbrooks Weekly Update

Here is your quick round up from the team as to what’s been happening this past week in Holbrooks:

Vehicle Crime

A Citroen relay van has been broken into on Burnaby Road.  Offenders have drilled a hole in the vehicle and stolen a quantity of tools and a wallet.

We urge residents to take the time in marking and registering your property.   Tools and other valuables can be registered for free on the Secure Asset Register. Property which is marked carries a higher risk and is less desirable to thieves.

If you see any suspicious activity around vans and cars such as someone looking through the windows or trying the handle, loud drilling noises at night or early hours of the morning, holding devices near front doors and car doors (this could be a relay attack) then please report it.

Burglary

A property on Burnaby Road has suffered a break in.  Offender(s) snapped the lock of the French doors and a boiler and tools were stolen.  This happened Monday 8th April into Tuesday 9th April.

An attempted residential burglary has also been reported on Charlewood Road which happened on Thursday 11th April at approximately 4:00 am. The offender was trying to gain access via the rear door but thankfully disturbed.

Officers are conducting patrols during key times with the aim of deterring burglary offenders. There are steps you can take to secure your home, making it difficult for criminals to enter. Please visit www.west-midlands.police.uk /crime prevention and www.securedbydesign.com

Across Radford Sherbourne and Bablake

Following a call of males jumping into rear gardens off Cheveral Avenue, officers attended the location including the dog unit and contained the area. It was discovered that a burglary had taken place. Officers arrested a suspect nearby. Great result.

On Saturday 13th April, officers scrambled to a report of an attempted robbery off Sandy Lane. The area was thoroughly searched and two males were arrested which is a fantastic outcome.
