I wanted to make everyone aware of a SCAM that has occurred on 21st March mid day.

A unknown male who is knocking on doors around SHIRLEY ( so far he has tried PAILTON ROAD

and PALMERS CLOSE SHIRLEY B90 3NU.

Basically he is knocking on doors ( targeting elderly female), stating either his daughter or mother has been taken to hospital and his car has broken down nearby.

He go's on to say that he needs anything from £ 30 - 40 cash for a taxi.

He is very friendly and plausible and does not make threats.

The stories alter sometimes, and he tends to speak quickly and sometimes forgets what lie he is using.

The description of the male is;

Asian, 30 -40 years old, stocky build 5'10 - 6 feet tall. Wears either a turban or a black hat, some facial stubble.

Clothing is ; green jacket and distinctive khaki style trousers, almost look like Army issues.

Black trainers.

Pleas DO NOT give him anything !

If this man knocks on your door, make an excuse to close the door and call 999. Stating that he fits the description of a Door step scammer who is going around Shirley.

This is a despicable crime that is targeting elderly residents and we need him stopped.
