Chelmsley Team Newsletter 14/5/24

Sceptre Week, tackling knife crime.

Do you know where this is?

Yep, Chelmsley Wood has a Knife surrender bin, helping us get knives of our streets. Anyone can anonymously deposit knives into the bin, it is situated at the bottom of the stairwell & escalators opposite the Town Centre car park.

Would you like to give us information about Knife Crime or those carrying knives? You can do so anonymously via crimestoppers.

Check out Fearless

Play your part in reducing knife crime by reporting people you know or suspect may be carrying a knife.

Officers have been on the Town Centre talking to residents & students about Sceptre week and how we are reducing knife crime. Thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat.

BIG thanks to our colleagues from WMP Traffic & Smithswood Neighbourhood Team, today, Tuesday 14th May, they worked alongside partner agencies DVSA, Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency & SMBC’s Taxi Licensing officers to tackle all things traffic. They set up on the car park of North Solihull Sports centre and our Officers travelled around the area and escorted drivers in to be checked out. A number of Penalty notices were issued for various offences such as illegal window tints & not wearing seat belts. Vehicles were seized for not having insurance and one vehicle was found to be stolen on false number plates. A good day’s work keeping our roads & residents safe.
