Team News

Dear Resident

Hope you are all well and having a good start to your week. Here’s a quick roundup from your local policing team of some of the work we have been doing over the last couple of weeks in the Blakenall & Birchills Leamore area.

  • We are continuing our mobile and foot patrols in the area of Stephenson Square, Beechdale in response to reports of anti-social behaviour.
  • Members of team have attended the Beechdale over 60’s social club and Frank F Harrison Community centre both in Stephenson Sq, Beechdale this afternoon and evening to meet local residents to discuss local issues and how as a community we can work together to tackle these.
  • Patrols are continuing at Reedswood Retail park where we are continually linking in with stores to provide reassurance and follow up on enquiries including checking CCTV to identify anyone involved in ASB and shoplifting. As a result, the team have been actively involved in the arrest of 3 offenders who have been prolific across Walsall. A shoplifting incident was also deterred by a member of the team at Sainsbury’s petrol station on the 16th.
  • Our Inspector Saqib Butt and PCSO Waddington met with the outreach project and staff at the Midland Langar Seva Society in Bloxwich. Our Inspector had this to say-

Today, I had the privilege of visiting the Midland Langar Seva Society (MLSS) in Walsall and meeting the community outreach team. The work of MLSS goes far beyond serving hot meals. Their commitment to addressing issues like poverty, homelessness, and social isolation is both inspiring and humbling. It was heart-warming to see the collaboration and community spirit in action, and I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to learn more about the challenges they face and the solutions they provide. As we work to support and safeguard our communities, partnerships with organisations like MLSS are vital. Their work reminds us of the importance of kindness, empathy, and service in building a stronger, more inclusive society.

A huge thank you to everyone at MLSS for the invaluable work you do, day in and day out. You are making a difference.
