Local Crime: Here are the crime updates for the Lozells and East Handsworth area from 15/12/2024 and 30/12/2024
Nursery Road – Business burglary – Between 12am and 12:04am on 18/12/2024, unknown offender has forced rear door of property. Once offenders have gained entry setting off smoke alarm. Offenders have searched the property then they have exited by the same way they entered. Not sure what items were stolen. Grosvenor Road – Burglary – Between 1:02am and 2:36am on 18/12/2024, unknown persons have forced front door to property before gaining entry. Offender has then attempted to force entry to one of the internal doors within the building. Resident has called police and offender was located within building asleep. Offender arrested. Victoriana Way – Theft of a motor vehicle – Between 1:27pm and 9:42pm on 16/12/2024 unknown persons approached an insecure, parked, and unattended Nissan Qashqai. Offenders have used a key or other tool to remove the steering wheel lock before stealing the vehicle. Eco Drive – Attempted Burglary – Between 2:45am and 9:16am on 15/12/2024, resident at the property was made aware that a male with bushy hair and big beard. Dressed in a black coat and grey tracksuit bottoms with a push bike. Male was at the front of property trying to get into garden. Soho Road – Theft of a pedal cycle – Between 14:42pm and 15:02pm on 18/12/2024, unknown persons have approached an insecure electric bike that was propped up against railings outside bank. Offenders have taken bike without owners’ consent. George Street – Theft of a motor vehicle – Between 5pm on 21/12/2024 and 11:24am on 22/12/2024, unknown persons have approached a secure, parked and unattended Mercedes. Offenders gained entry and stole vehicle by unknown means. Vehicle owner is still in possession of keys. Wills Street – Theft of a motor vehicle – Between 5:15pm and 5:16pm on 22/12/2024, unknown persons approached a secure, parked and unattended Hyundai Tucson. Offenders gained entry and stole vehicle by unknown means. Calthorpe Road – Attempted residential burglary – Between 5:20pm and 5:33pm on 24/12/2024, unknown persons have by unknown means gained access to the rear of the property. Offenders using an unknown implement have tried to pry open the rear kitchen window. Whilst doing this offender have made a noise alerting occupant, offenders have then run away from property. Wills Street – Theft of a motor vehicle – Between 5:15pm and 5:16pm on 22/12/2024, unknown persons approached a secure, parked and unattended Hyundai Tucson. Offenders gained entry to vehicle and stole vehicle by unknown means. Douglas Road – Theft of a motor vehicle - Between 12am and 2:15pm on 27/12/2024, unknown persons approached a secure, parked and unattended Nissan Juke Acenta. Offenders gained entry to vehicle and stole it by unknown means. Church Hill Road – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 3:55pm and 4:10pm on 24/12/2024, unknown person approached a secure, parked and attended VW Golf. Vehicle owner noticed that a male was acting suspicious around the vehicle. Owner saw male take the centre cap from wheel and then run off.
