Penn and Merry Hill Crime Update


Community Crime Update for Merry Hill and Penn , Wolverhampton Date: 12th - 18th May 2025

Dear Residents,

We hope you are all safe and well. As part of our ongoing effort to keep everyone informed, we are sharing details of reported crimes in the Merry Hill and Penn area between 12–18 May 2025.

 

Merry Hill 

THE AVENUE, WOLVERHAMPTON, WOLVERHAMPTON

On 13 May, at around 2:00 am, a grey Jaguar was stolen from a driveway. Entry was gained through the driver’s side window using key-less technology. The offenders were assisted at the scene by a blue Volkswagen.

 

WARNFORD WALK, WOLVERHAMPTON, WOLVERHAMPTON 

On 16 May, between 7:30–9:15 am, an unknown individual removed the front number plate from a black Ford Focus. 

 

 Penn 

Wynn Road, Wolverhampton Reported on: 13/05/2025, 08:50 Incident occurred between: 13/05/2025, 04:50 – 05:00

Offenders arrived in a black car and broke into a home by snapping the front door lock. Once inside, they took a set of car keys but were unable to start the vehicle due to security features. They then fled towards Coalway Road.

Ashley Road, Wolverhampton Reported on: 14/05/2025, 18:08 Incident occurred between: 14/05/2025, 14:00 – 14:33

Offenders forced entry into a back garden by breaking open a gate. They then broke the padlock on a shed and searched through its contents. The victim believes some items were taken but isn’t certain what was missing. The offenders left through the alleyway leading to Woodlands Walk or Linton Road.

 

Officers are actively investigating these crimes, conducting house-to-house enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage to gather evidence. Additionally, the Neighbourhood Team  has increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance and deter further incidents.

 

 

Recent Arrest – Wakeley Hill, Penn

A male has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a cannabis setup at a residential property on Wakeley Hill, Penn. Officers uncovered a large number of plants inside the home. This is an important step in tackling illegal drug activity in our area, and we will continue working hard to keep our community safe.

 

Crime Prevention 

Keeping our community safe is a shared responsibility. Here are some simple steps to help protect your home and belongings:

  • Vehicle Security: Use a steering wheel lock, park in secure areas, and store car keys in a signal-blocking pouch to prevent key-less theft.
  • Number Plate Protection: Secure number plates with anti-theft screws and park in well-lit locations to deter criminals.
  • Home Security: Upgrade door locks to anti-snap versions, install security alarms and cameras, and keep valuables out of sight.
  • Garden & Shed Security: Fit sturdy padlocks on sheds and gates, install motion-activated lighting, and mark valuables with your postcode.
  • Reporting Crime

    If you witness suspicious activity or have been affected by crime, report it through the following channels:

  • Emergency: Call 999 if a crime is in progress or someone is in danger.
  • Non-Emergency: Call 101 to report incidents after they have occurred.
  • Crime Stoppers: Report anonymously at 0800 555 111.
