Here’s a quick round up from the Acocks Green neighbourhood policing team.
It was ASB awareness week, so we’ve had a extremely busy week.
There are three main categories for antisocial behaviour, depending on how many people are affected:
Personal antisocial behaviour is when a person targets a specific individual or group.
Nuisance antisocial behaviour is when a person causes trouble, annoyance or suffering to a community.
Environmental antisocial behaviour is when a person’s actions affect the wider environment, such as public spaces or buildings.
This weeks highlights:
Community day - Officers worked alongside many partners such as: DVLA, civil enforcement officers, Fire, Trident, Housing, Local councillors, MPs, Birmingham city council, representatives from the local churches, Safer Roads Unit, Roads policing unit. Stalls were held outside the SWAN shopping centre to give advice on crime prevention as well as listening to what the local concerns are surrounding crime.
Officers then patrolled the Acocks Green Village to tackle crime, visible presence of officers led to officers successfully arresting a wanted male for failing to appear, A CPW was issued to a male and female for camping in a tent behind stores, 10x boxes containing x6 cannisters were seized alongside a lot of tobacco from Carters Newsagents, Stop and searches were conducted on 6 people where nothing was found, a motorbike was seized for no insurance, parking tickets were issued, 2 males were arrested for driving dangerously on a motorbike and theft of motorbike.
Officers worked alongside WMPdogs to give a presentation to the children at Ninestiles Academy on knife crime, children were educated on how police use the assistance of police dogs to locate or search people for carrying knives.
Officers have been participating in meetings with local primary schools to discuss ongoing concerns the schools face, crime prevention/ safeguarding of pupils initiatives were discussed.
