Back to school September already, we hope you have had a lovely summer and that all the children are ready and prepared for the new academic year. I will be visiting all my schools over the next couple of weeks to pop some dates in our diary. One of the great joys of working in Neighbourhood Policing is engaging with the children at school, my aim is to visit every nursery & primary school year group at least once over the next 11 months.
Crime Updates Please remember not to leave any valuables in unattended in vehicles. Let’s not make it easy for these offenders.

News from the Town Centre DNO’s Officers have been extremely busy this week with the end of the summer holidays and the return of the schools. We have continued to maintain a high-visibility presence across the town centre, carrying out regular patrols and engaging with members of the public. These patrols have not only reassured residents but have also provided us with many positive opportunities to catch up with the community and listen to their concerns around the town centre and ASB and shoplifting which is an issue we are continuing to tackle.
While the majority of the interactions have been positive, we have responded to a small number of incidents involving anti-social behaviour in the town centre, to which we have been quick to respond and further educate the youths on the PSPO in place.
Sadly, on the 31/09/25 there was serious incident in Meriden Park in which a young male was stabbed. Since that time, we have increased the number of patrols and visibility by conducting reassurance patrols around the area to make the park feel safe again. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It has been great to be back on patrol with PCSO Ian this week, Ian will be covering the Fordbridge area. Until next time Stay safe & well PCSO Vicki | ||
