A Message from Your New Neighbourhood Teams Sergeant |

Dear Residents of Binley & Willenhall, Cheylesmore, and Earlsdon,
I hope this message finds you well.
I’ve recently taken over from Sergeant Manwaring and am now your new Neighbourhood Teams Sergeant, having moved over from Coventry Response. I’m excited to begin working closely with you all to help keep our communities safe, supported, and well-informed.
I’m committed to continuing the team’s great work in tackling key local issues. Here’s a brief update on the current priorities across our areas:
Shoplifting remains a concern locally. I’m pleased to report that within my first week in post, we’ve charged and remanded two prolific offenders. We’ll continue working hard to support local businesses and maintain pressure on shoplifters. We’ve seen a recent rise in vehicle-related crime, particularly thefts from parked cars. With shorter days approaching, offenders may be more active. I’ll be increasing proactive patrols in hotspot areas to deter crime and reassure residents. Please try to park in well-lit, visible locations, ideally covered by CCTV or Ring doorbells, and avoid leaving valuables in your vehicle overnight. We’ve received multiple reports of off-road motorbikes causing disruption and danger. I’ll be stepping up patrols in the area and encourage residents to continue reporting sightings. Your information helps us take effective enforcement action. I’ll also be attending upcoming community engagement events and look forward to meeting many of you there.
