Hello
✅ Good News from Your Local Policing Team ✅ Officers have carried out patrols at schools during drop off and pick up times, reminding parents of their responsibilities and ensuring the safety of the pupils. This saw several vehicles seized for no tax and an individual issued with a notice due to driving without a valid licence Officers have also carried out visits to multiple retail premises in and around the city centre, talking to them about issues regarding anti social behaviour, shop theft and general concerns. Whilst on patrol officers have managed to stop multiple instances of shoptheft, recover the goods and report the offenders for the offences Officers have joined our colleagues from BTP and safer travel to carry out patrols in Pool Meadow bus station, including the use of a knife arch. We had some great interactions with the school children and travellers using the station St Michaels officers joined with our colleagues from various uniformed services including fire, ambulance and the military to mark remembrance Sunday at the War memorial park, it was humbling and very poignant to observe the 2 minute silence with so many members of the community and to give thanks to those that have served and given so much to ensure the freedoms that we take for granted today.
Along with everyone else we are looking forward to Christmas! As well as being a time for celebration, it is also an opportunity for criminals to try and carry out their activities. Remain vigilant, keeping doors and windows locked and shut when not at home, try and leave a lamp on if you are out so that the appearance is given of someone being in. If you buy high value items such as televisions or laptops, try not to leave the boxes outside your property- this can be an indicator that there are goods of value inside. If you see anything suspicious or out of the ordinary please let us know. You can contact us on 999 for emergencies, 101 for non emergencies and a live chat facility on the west midlands police website
