Weekly Update from your local Bablake NPT
Dear Members
Here’s your weekly update from myself and the rest of the team.
What’s Been Happening
We have seen a slight increase in anti-social behaviour across the ward. This is anticipated due to it being the school holidays and extra patrols are being carried out at known ASB spots.
Building sites On Tuesday whilst on patrol, we were told about children playing on a building site in Bablake. We attended and stopped a group in the vicinity. Whilst children want to explore and have fun, building sites are not the place to do this. Parents, you can help us by talking to your children about the hazards of such sites. For more information: https://constructionsafe.co.uk/campaigns
This group was given strong words of advice and their parents informed. We also shared some real experiences, appropriate to their age of course, to drive home the message about the dangers and consequences of being on building sites which parents appreciated.
If you see children entering a building site please report it immediately to prevent accidents. If children are damaging perimeter fencing this should also be reported.
Other ASB We have been made aware on BIRMINGHAM ROAD and BROWNS LANE that a group of youngsters have been kicking front doors and running off. This can be quite scary for the elderly and vulnerable. We are following up on a few lines of enquiry to identify those responsible and have increased patrols at the times this behaviour seems to be occurring. If any residents in the vicinity have CCTV or information which may assist us, please email the team, in confidence, at holbrookandradford@westmidlands.police.uk
Survey Whilst on the subject of anti-social behaviour if you live, work, or spend time in the West Midlands, we would love to hear from you. By taking time to complete a quick survey, your responses will directly inform how police and partners can prevent and reduce anti-social behaviour in the future. Vehicle crime In the early hours of Tuesday 10th February, response officers and dog unit attended a vehicle being broken into on BEAKE AVENUE. Two suspects were located on SADLER ROAD after a foot chase and arrested.
Other vehicle crime reported on Bablake includes theft from motor vehicles on OVERSLADE CRESCENT, TAMWORTH ROAD and SADLER ROAD. Two motorbikes were stolen off SADLER ROAD (recovered) and a Fiat Abarth from LIONSFIELD AVENUE (outstanding). Over the same time period no burglaries have been reported.
Until next week Stay safe everyone.
