Weekly round-up from your local Neighbourhood Team

Hello,

​Here’s a quick round up from me and the rest of the team.

❓ What's been happening ❓

• Vehicle Seizures. Officers from the team continue to seize multiple vehicles in recent weeks for no tax, no insurance and obstruction offences following proactive patrols and community intelligence.
• Retail theft. Officers arrested and charged a repeat shoplifter this week. We are working closely with businesses across Hall Green and Springfield to identify, arrest and charge individuals. 
• Weston Lane. We have received reports from the community regarding drug use, ASB and fly tipping taking place on Weston Lane and have subsequently increased our patrols in the area. Last night officers stopped and prosecuted a male at the location for nitrous oxide use. We will be continuing patrols at the location.

• Drop-in Surgery - Springfield. PCSO Gray attended The Shires this week to hold a drop-in session with residents and the local community. A number of issues were raised which has been passed back to the rest of the team to tackle in coming weeks.

✅ Crime Prevention Tips for the darker nights 

❗Vehicle crime is a continued priority across both wards❗

Most crime is opportunistic, and offenders are looking for the quickest, easiest target. Please take a few seconds to double checks your security routines.

Ensure your vehicle is locked with no valuables left on display – even a jacket or loose change can tempt a thief. Utilise extra security measures such as steering wheel locks.
