Weekly Round-up! |

Good evening Resident,
Busy, busy, busy this week for the city centre teams with arrests and crime scenes. Take a look below and find out what we've been up to.
What’s Been Happening
Arrests – Three arrests made this week for offences taking places on the city centre with one male being detained and taken to custody for breaching a Domestic Violence Prevention Order by being in the company of a female. Another individual was arrested for a serious violent assault on the city centre this week, unfortunately this is all i can disclose at this time. Finally, a man in his 60s was discovered with serious injuries in Dudley Street at just before 7.25pm on Wednesday (20 March). He remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital. Clayton Patterson was detained shortly afterwards. The 63-year-old, of no fixed address, has now been charged with attempted murder. He was remanded to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court (20 March).
Community Engagement – Sadly there has been not much in the way of community engagement from any of the city centre teams this week due to other commitments. PC Moore-Harbach did manage to take some time out with Safer Travel and British Transport Police officers to set up a knife arch in hotspot locations throughout the city. They set up near to the Train Station and Bus Station with members of the public quite happy to walk through the arch and have a chat with our officers.
Guardian Patrols – Our standard guardian patrols went by with no issues this week in our usual locations, we were also joined by Operation Servator for a more in depth watch throughout the city. Some of our teams officers travelled into Birmingham this week to join Football officers at the Aston Villa vs Lille game. Well done to the boys in claret and blue for getting through to the next round.
Night-Time Economy – First off an update from last Saturdays NTE and what a busy one it was with a local food establishment, Meat and Eat, offering out free food. The downside to this good gesture was the over 100 youths it attracted that later caused a lot of ASB in the city centre. As always licensing checks were carried out at all nightlife premises. This Saturday came with calls for service regarding males with weapons in the city, we beleive that these weapons were dumped in an unknown location upon arrival. A female was also found unconscious and unresponsive outside of the Planet nightclub, with the aid of police officers and security she was safely put into the back of an ambulance and taken to hospital.
Other News - Due to the unfortunate calls on Saturday night the majority of our Sunday was spent searching various locations in the city centre in an attempt to find any stashed weaponry, the searches yielded no results. Throughout the week neighbourhood officers have been required to assist response due to an overwhelming workload, but its nothing they can't handle.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and i hope you look forward to the next one!
