In the UK, it is illegal to carry most knives in public without a "good reason," with maximum penalties of 4 years in prison and an unlimited fine. You can legally carry a folding pocket knife under 3 inches (7.62 cm) that does not lock. Self-defence is not considered a valid "good reason".
Illegal Knives: Carrying a locking knife, flick knife (switchblade), butterfly knife, or any large knife/machete without good reason is illegal.
Prohibited Places: It is strictly illegal to carry any knife in schools, at football matches, or in licensed premises.
We have continued with our Targeted Guardian Patrols in LADY HERBERTS GARDENS, FAR GOSFORD STREET/FARGO VILLAGE AND SPON END. These patrols are conducted by uniformed and non-uniformed officers. We are able to patrols local hot spots without being instantly recognised, actively looking to deter criminality and identify person/s looking to buy and sell drugs within communities.
Review your home security 🏠 We urge all residents to take a few simple, effective steps to protect your property and deter criminals. · Lock Up: Always lock your doors and windows, even when you are at home. If you have a UPVC door, make sure to lift the handle and turn the key to fully engage the locks. · Light It Up: When you go out, leave a light on or use a timer switch to make your home look occupied. A well-lit home is a deterrent. · Hide Valuables: Keep car keys, wallets, cash, and laptops out of sight and away from windows and letterboxes. · Set Your Alarm: If you have a house alarm, please use it every time you leave the house and at night. · Secure Side Access: Ensure any side gates, sheds, or outbuildings are locked and secure. 📞 How to Contact Us or Report Information 📞
