Monthly Community Update from Sgt Jonathan Peters – April 2026 |
||
|
Good afternoon,
If I may I would like to share with you some of the work that the Wolverhampton City Centre Team have been up to over the past month.
🔍 Local Priorities Officers on patrols in the City made 43 arrests last month for a range of offences such as thefts from store, robbery & burglary.
Op Vigilant is set up to look out vulnerable women and girls, ensuring that they are safe whilst out in our city. Officers have been out during the weeknights and weekends, re-assuring & engaging with residents, commuters and shoppers and asking them to look out for those who may seem vulnerable and what they can do to help.
We have been working alongside the Guardian Task Force to tackle serious youth violence and knife crime in the City.
🤝 Partnership Working Throughout March, I have worked a few nights at the weekend, and I was able to see the immediate impact of the late night Safe Haven which is open every Friday & Saturday in 2026. Police, the BID & Council departments such as Taxi Licencing & the Night Guardians are working together to ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable evening when they are out in Wolverhampton. The safe haven is located at The 01902 in Queen Square.
🧑🤝🧑 Community Involvement PCSO's have held crime prevention seminars at locations such as the Bus Station, ASDA & Natwest bank in Queen Square. Thankyou to the relevant businesses for working with us and offering up their own crime prevention tips and advice to those using their services.
