Operation SNAP! |
||||
|
Good evening Resident,
Recently I have been receiving a lot of complaints regarding parking within residential areas of Wolverhampton. I would like to take this opportunity to advise all residents on the existence of OPERATION SNAP! Please take a look at the below guidelines and I would highly recommend using this service for reporting any road and parking offences.
Generally, Operation Snap is not used for minor parking offences, as it is designed for dangerous moving traffic offences captured on dashcam or video. However, some police forces will accept footage of dangerous, obstructive parking, such as blocking pavements, junctions, or parking on pedestrian zig-zag lines. Key Details on Using Operation Snap for Parking: What to Report: Dangerous parking that poses a safety risk, such as on zig-zag lines or blocking pedestrian access, may be accepted. What Not to Report: General nuisance parking, such as blocking driveways or parking on yellow lines, should be reported to the local council. Evidence Requirements: Submissions must be video footage (not just photos) clearly showing the offence and the vehicle registration.
How to Report: Dangerous/Obstructive Parking: Use your local police force's Operation Snap portal (e.g., West Midlands Police). General Parking Offences: Report to your local council via their website or the government's Report a parking offence tool. Always check your local police force’s specific Operation Snap guidance, as policies can vary.
