Keeping Sandwell safe during Eid al-Adha celebrations

Today, your local neighbourhood officers have been working hard to keep our communities safe in Sandwell during Eid al-Adha celebrations.

Various events have been held across Sandwell in locations such as Victoria Park in Tipton, West Park in Smethwick and Bearmore playing field in Cradley Heath.

Our officers were visible at every event advertised to reassure communities and ensure everyone was able to celebrate Eid safely. The officers involved received thanks and positive feedback from the event organisers.

Ch Supt Kim Madill, Sandwell Police, said: “Throughout the year, we work closely with local Muslim leaders and key members in the community as well as in partnership on both our Police Independent Advisory Group and recently formed Muslim Reference Group.

“During Eid celebrations, which has seen large crowds from across Sandwell, our officers have been speaking to the people they serve and listening to their concerns. I was also pleased to be out in the community at some of the events today.

“Sandwell is proud of its diversity, and we remain committed to creating a safe environment for all during this important time of celebration.”
