Dear Residents, PCSO Gilkes here this is a quick round up from me and the rest of the Hillfield’s neighbourhood policing team. What`s been happening: We have conducted high visible patrols around your neighbourhood, aiming at the hotspots for anti-social behaviour. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Your local Neighbourhood team have been out and about engaging in the community. We completed a visit to Family Harmony Hub earlier this week, engaging with hub users in different sessions that they run. It was great to meet new residents and introduce ourselves. We were handing out different security devices, leaflets and crime prevention advice. Officers conducted a joint foot patrol with the local authority around Hartlepool Road where we have had reports of anti-social behaviour. This gave both the police and local authority the chance to see what the issues are and discuss ways we could help prevent this from continuing. We have bee conducting vehicle checks this week which has resulted in seizing cars off the road. We managed to seize vehicles for driving with no licence and insurance. We aim to keep the other road users safe by completing vehicles checks. Officers attended a Knife Crime Project that was put together by a school. It was great to listen to what students had to say and give them an input around knife crime and weapons. Our next Cuppa With Coppa event will be held on Friday 19th at Hope Centre Vauxhall Street 11:00-12:00. This is a great opportunity to give your local officers information around any issues that you are experiencing. ARRESTS: This week your local officers made some great arrests this set. Altogether there were 4 arrests made regarding known offenders causing issues within the local neighbourhood this week. OTHER HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK: Officers have been out completing patrols in hotspot locations and conducting stop and searches. It’s time to get summer-ready and secure your home, vehicles, and valuables – double checking your windows and doors are locked is key. Never leave your car unattended, running with the AC on, and valuables on show. Over the summer, you will see more officers out in our towns and cities, but there are also ways you can help keep your community safe. Your CCTV helps us solve real crimes. We are urging local businesses, residents, and community groups to sign up to our CCTV registry online: CCTV Registry | West Midlands Police. It only takes five minutes and can help us bring more opportunistic burglars and thieves to justice.
GREAT NEWS: Your local neighbourhood team are looking a setting up a Street watch in Hillfields. Street Watch Team is a community patrol initiative that helps you make a difference where you live. Street watch gives you and your community an opportunity to keep your area safe. Our website has more information and how to get involved www.west-midlands.police.uk has or contact streetwatch@westmidlands.police.uk
