Dear Resident, This week was neighbourhood policing week, from Monday 15th to Friday 19th June forces across the country were promoting the work completed by neighbourhood policing teams. Officers and PCSOs working in neighbourhood teams are often the first point of contact for communities. They build trust, prevent crime and deal with the local issues, including anti-social behaviour, that matter most to the people they serve. Some of the work we have done this week includes patrols of antisocial (ASB) behaviour hotspots. On Friday our PCs and PCSOs went out on patrol around a local hotspot following recent reports of ASB issues along with other problems including shoplifting. The team were joined by Chief Inspector Gardener who patrolled with one of our PCSOs. Whilst at the location they went into some of the stores affected by issues and the work completed recently by the neighbourhood team had had a positive effect in stopping the issues. Whilst at the location the remaining members of the team were alerted to a shoplifter who had stolen items from a supermarket. The two officers and PCSO conducted an area search and located the male. The items were recovered and the male was taken back to the store where he was issued a community resolution and a banning order from the store. ![]() On Monday evening officers on patrol spotted a male on an electric motorcycle. The officers signalled for the male to pull over and he compliantly stopped. The vehicle is not registered for road use, and the rider would have no insurance or road tax for the vehicle. The motorcycle was seized. ![]() On Tuesday afternoon PCSOs attended a stolen vehicle tracking on a residential road having been stolen that morning from a dealership. The PCSOs attended the location along with persons from the dealership. The vehicle was recovered. The dealership then discovered that another vehicle has also been stolen from the car park. This vehicle was tracking nearby. The PCSOs and dealership attended the second location and recovered the second vehicle. ![]() ![]() There were Two arrests of note this week with a male responsible for a number of shopliftings spotted and arrested on Tuesday. The male has been attending and stealing items from a local store on a regular basis. Once identified officers were able to locate the male and he was arrested. The second was a male that was arrested on Wednesday evening for breach of a court order and failing to comply with drug assessment conditions.
Crime Figures There were Two reported vehicle offences in the past Nine Days on the Holbrooks Ward. These were theft of Motor Vehicle Offences x2 that both took place on Nunts Lane. There was Three reported burglary offence in the past Nine Days on the Holbrooks Ward. This was an Attempted burglary of a business that took place on Wheelwright Lane and two Attempted burglaries of a Residential Home that took place on Lauderdale Avenue and Yelverton Road.
There were no other crimes of note.
