Monthly Community Update from Sgt Millard – June 2026

Hello Resident,

I hope this message finds you well. As we move into July, I wanted to share a quick round-up of what’s been happening across our local area, what’s coming up, and how we’re working together to keep our community safe and thriving.

🔍 Arrests and enforcement

We have made a number of arrests in the area for shop thefts on the High Street, and we attended a burglary in progress which also resulted in an arrest

We continue to target areas of repeat concern in relation to dangerous parking - particularly at the six ways end of Erdington High Street. It seems many people are still unaware of the Highway Code and the law with regards to parking on zig zag road markings and near to junctions and crossings. Ignorance isn't an excuse. Fixed penalties and points on licenses will continue to be issued to those who disregard the safety of pedestrians by parking dangerously

We want to make sure our roads are as safe as possible for all users. That's why we have Operation Snap (Op Snap) - and we need your help. If you see anyone committing driving offences on our roads and it's captured on your dashcam, CCTV or a mobile phone by a passenger, we want you to send it in to us. 🤝 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Community and partnership

This past week has been dedicated to focusing on Anti-social behaviour - we've been working alongside BID and Birmingham City Council to reduce and problem solve local ASB issues. We continue our commitment to attend local community meetings at Pitts Farm and Abbeyfield estates, and we appreciate the time and effort of those who attend - these lines of connection are really important to keeping our area safe. Another thank you to everyone who came to see us at last months surgeries at the hub on Erdington High Street, we have had a very positive response to our presence on the High Street
