Olton WMnow Update

Good morning everyone, 
We hope you are keeping cool somehow (we aren’t) and enjoying the sunshine when possible. Here is your update for the Olton Area.
 

Crime Update:
There was a theft of motor vehicle on Dove House Lane in the early hours of the 6th of July Between 04:00am and 05:00am whereby a Silver Ford Transit van was stolen by unknown means by an unknown offender. No CCTV of the offence taking place has been captured but I would encourage anyone with information to please come forward and contact us.
 

Good News:
Following ongoing concerns raised by local residents about the use of off-road bikes in the area we were out in force supporting a special operation with our colleagues in Force Traffic and Road Harm. The off-road bikes team were quick to respond to any reports or sightings of bikes in the area and thanks to calls from the public and the efforts of our specialist officers two males were detained on a bike, arrested and a weapon seized along with the bike. 
 

The team spotted a vehicle driving erratically on Wednesday evening on the patch and upon pulling it over found the driver to be intoxicated and in possession or Class A drugs. The male was arrested and taken to custody thankfully safeguarding other road users.
 

Two of our team had a lovely message from a member of the public who was keen to thank us for the work we had done to safeguard a vulnerable lady in the community. Messages like this mean a lot to the team and we are so grateful for this kind gesture by the person as feedback about the work we do in the community is so valuable to us.
 

Our street watch groups have been out and about braving the scorching heat with our PCSO’s and discussing and tackling local issues this past week, and the team have been attending a number of joint visits with Solihull Housing to tackle issues such as drug use and ASB which have been raised as being persistent issue by local people. These are some of the ways that our team responds to the problems that come to our attention to deal with what matters to our residents.
