Hello Resident, We hope you are well and enjoying the sunshine 🌞🌞
✅ News from Your Local Policing Team ✅
What's been happening this week? Our Neighbourhood Officers started this week with an arrest for criminal damage.
The Deritend StreetWatch group were active at the weekend on one of their patrols, they were joined by PCSO Evans. The group walked around the are noting issues to be raised.
The team were invited to Pot Luck, organised by Friction Art at The Edge on Cheapside, this was a great community event that included discussions on graffiti and tagging and various ways to stop unwanted markings.
Our PCSOs responded to community complaints about cars being dumped, they removed an untaxed vehicle releasing some valuable parking spaces for the residents and relieving congestion on the road.
Our team have been patrolling the Coventry Road area, meeting members of the local community.
We have received numerous reports of an abandoned truck on Cherrywood Road. Our PCSOs visited the area and working with one of our partners were able to get the vehicle removed.
The whole team went out to execute a warrant this week too.
Our eagle-eyed Police Officers recognised an offender wanted on recall to prison, they arrested the individual and they were taken to custody. Our officers are always on the lookout 👀
We have patrols around Horton Square in Highgate, if you see us come and say “hi”
Last but definitely not least, we have welcomed a new Police officer to the Small Heath and Highgate team, so you may see a new face in the area.

🚨 Crime & Safety Updates — What You Need to Know 🚨
We know how hot it is currently and hope you can enjoy the warm weather, it can be very tempting to leave windows open especially at night to try to allow some cooler air to enter the property, but this can be an easy way for someone to gain entry to your house/shop/building. Please ensure windows are shut and secured overnight or if you leave during the day especially if they are on the ground floor.
Many of our community are finding alternative ways to cool down, some are accessing our waterways, please see the link below to the Royal Life Saving Society's advice of staying safe in the summer.
