✅ Good News from Your Local Policing Team ✅
Throughout this week, your Foleshill neighbourhood officers have been busy patrolling our anti-social behaviour (ASB) hotspots. You may have seen us patrolling Edgwick Park, this is an ongoing operation where we are working with our partners in the North East Priority Crime Team and other departments to try and make this area a safer place for people to use reducing ASB and other problems in the park.
The mounted unit were on patrol in Foleshill this week assisting with keeping our streets safe.
We took part in a Multi Agency Road Safety Operation (MARSO) on Ansty Road, Coventry, this included our colleagues from the West Midlands Police traffic unit, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). The purpose of the MARSO is to stop vehicles which are believed to be committing various traffic offences for example; driving without insurance, MOT and tax, driving with illegal number plates and window tints. The operation was successful for a number of road users issued with penalty charge notices and several vehicles seized for having no insurance and not being roadworthy. During the MARSO a vehicle attempted to get away from the traffic unit due to the vehicle being on cloned plates, the vehicle was safely brought to a stop and the occupants arrested for theft of a motor vehicle, the occupants were brought into custody and processed accordingly.
There has been a heightened West Midlands Police traffic unit presence in Coventry recently, this is in response to the off road bikes and other vehicles driving dangerously around the city.
We have completed some visits to our local places of worship to provide some crime prevention advice.
We have today identified a prolific shoplifter who has been targeting our petrol station stores via CCTV, this person is now in custody at the police station and has been charged and remanded for several shoplifting offences committed in Foleshill.

Our colleagues in the North East Priority Crime Team (PCT) have been busy this week. They have been assisting us with our patrols and MARSO event. A warrant was conducted under section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 at an address in Foleshill by the PCT, the officers had gathered intelligence around the address and occupants and executed the warrant which caused a significant disruption to drug dealing in the locality of Foleshill. The PCT have also been out arresting offenders around the City for various different offences.
We have recently welcomed a new Police officer to the team, PC Connelly! She is enjoying getting to know the area of Foleshill and has today assisted in helping rescue an abandoned dog! 📅 Upcoming Police & Community Engagements 📅
