Monthly Community Update from Sgt Liam Townill – July 2026

Hope you are all well and having a good week.

Here’s a quick roundup of some of the work we have been doing over the last month

across the neighbourhood-

Stolen car seized by the team from the Burrowes St area of Birchills. The vehicle which had been parked up in parking bays with extensive damage across from Winn House, was called in by Watmos Community Homes. (26/07/26)

Community letters drop in the Water Reeds Grove area of Leamore- responding to reports of ball game related ASB. (25/07/26)

X2 persons were arrested by our neighbourhood officers for shop theft from a local B &M – the individuals were promptly taken into custody, where they were both then further arrested for burglary offences after further investigation. A vehicle which had also been used by the offenders, was also seized by the neighbourhood team. (24/07/26)

A further arrest was made in the Blakenall area of an individual who had been tampering with their electronic tag. (24/07/26)

PCSOs met up with the Vicar from Christ Church Blakenall regarding further projects – this is following on from the successful cuppa with a copper drop-in session which have been held at both St Chads in Beechdale and Christ Church in Blakenall.

Patrols conducted in the Stephenson Sq shops, this is again in relation to repeated ASB regarding a communal stairwell – this is one of our local priorities. The team are continuing to work with partner agencies regarding this matter.

ASB patrols- Hereford St Walsall- behaviour in relation to noise complaints regarding motorbikes at the location.

Meeting with a representative of ‘Pride in Place’ - With Pride in Place, residents, businesses, and community groups will deliver real improvements that matter to local people. This is led by local people and backed by the UK government. (30/07/26)

X3 person/s stopped and search- Bloxwich Rd. X1 male dealt with at the roadside – cannabis order. (31/07/26)

Joint patrols conducted in response to ASB on the number 70 bus- Walsall to Bloxwich via Beechdale with travel safety officers. (15/07/26)

Stolen car seized in the Cartbridge Crescent area of Coalpool (05/07/26)

PCSO Marica visited Birchills C of E Academy, where the children were able to look inside a police car and ask questions regarding what we do in the community. The children also made us a lovely card to says thanks, we are very grateful for this!!
