Aldridge Police Weekly Update

Dear Resident

Good afternoon, here is your regular update from the Aldridge Neighbourhood Team covering the Aldridge, Walsall Wood, Pheasey and Streetly areas.

Over the past couple of weeks week officers have been out across the area carrying out targeted patrols, responding to community concerns, and working to keep our neighbourhoods safe. We have made several arrests for a range of offences, including drug-related offences, shoplifting, and individuals who are wanted. We have also carried out several vehicles stops through the week, dealing with a variety of traffic offences to help improve road safety for everyone.

Aldridge North & Walsall Wood 

Tackling ASB in the Oak Park area is a priority for the team and we have carried out several patrols in the area as well as holding regular drop-in surgeries for residents and people who work or visit the area. 

Following enquiries, we have now identified several individuals who have been visited and warned about their behaviour. 

We have also attended a multi-partnership meeting at Oak Park to look at opportunities for agencies to work with young people over the summer period. The team are committed to tackling ASB in this area and will continue with targeted patrols. 

It was also great to join our colleagues from West Midlands Fires Service at their Open Day over the weekend. Thank you to everyone who stopped to say hello, ask questions, and speak with us about local policing and crime prevention.

Aldridge Central & South

As part of OP Makesafe our officers have been out across the area raising awareness of child exploitation in the business community. Officers have been speaking to staff at local shops in Aldridge to empower businesses and other organisations to tackle child exploitation through increased awareness and training.

We’re also continuing to focus on tackling retail crime in the town centre and have carried out several patrols to help prevent and deter crime.

Streetly and Pheasey Park Farm 

The team are also aware of concerns of speeding on Queslett Road and are working with partners to help tackle this problem. We have already been in contact with our Road Harm Reduction Team and Walsall Council and are considering several options including education and enforcement.

We will soon be looking at opportunities for residents to get involved and support our policing efforts by joining our Community Speed Watch Initiative. We will provide further information soon.
