Weekly round-up from your local Neighbourhood Team

Hello All,

Here’s a quick round up from me and the rest of the team.

❓ What's been happening ❓

Cuppa with a copper- PCSO Evans and PCSO Gray have attended St Johns Church, Sparkhill this week for a weekly cuppa with a copper to discuss any concerns or any ongoing ASB issues. Parking issues were mentioned, which we continue to patrol around locations and issue tickets for obstruction offences. 

Vehicle Seizures- After reports from the community in reoccurring locations, officers from the team are continuing to seize multiple vehicles for no tax, no insurance and obstruction offences following proactive patrols and community intelligence. 

Retail theft- Officers are still working closely with local businesses across the Hall Green and Springfield areas to identify, arrest and charge individuals committing the offences. 

Weapon seizure- Yesterday officers have stopped a vehicle in Sparkhill following proactive patrols, during the stop they have recovered a baseball bat, machete and Class B drugs within an occupied vehicle. The male has been arrested for possession with intent to supply. The vehicle, weapons and drugs have been seized and the male was arrested.

Most crime is opportunistic, and offenders are looking for the quickest, easiest target. Please take a few seconds to double checks your security routines.

Ensure your vehicle is locked with no valuables left on display – even a jacket or loose change can tempt a thief. Utilise extra security measures such as steering wheel locks.
