Please be alert to scams at cash points on the high street

Recently we have had several incidents where scammers have tried to confuse victims who have put their cards into cash points. The suspect will convince the member of the public that the cash point is not working and it has swallowed their card. 

The scammer will hold their own card in their hand so when they hover over the exit slot they intercept your card as the machine ejects it, due to inactivity. Because they hold their own card it appears that the only card in their hand is theirs and not your recently ejected card.

On recent occasions the suspect has been wearing a Covid mask.
