Hello Bordesley Green This has been an eventful set for your local neighbourhood team, and we would like to share some interesting things we have been getting up to……..
Cuppa with a Coppa: PC Cooper has attended Tamarind and Cygnet Cedars, liaising with our colleagues and community building trust and confidence! Vehicle Operation: PC Eaton, PC Washbrook and PC Mohamud have been out and about in Bordesley Green, working with a local garage to seize vehicles which have significantly overdue road tax. Crime Prevention Presentation: PC Cooper has delivered multiple crime prevention presentations with our colleagues at Heartlands Hospital around crime reporting, investigations and achieving positive outcomes. Hate Crime Workshop: PC Mohamud has attended Starbank School, delivering a workshop to parents and Y3/Y4/Y5 students about Hate Crime in school. Op Nexo: PC Cooper has been meeting with a number of staff across Heartlands Hospital site to continue to build collaboration and partnership to improve the patient, staff and visitor experience. Cuppa with a Coppa: PC Eaton and PC Sutheran have attended a Cuppa with a Coppa session in Bordesley Green to speak to the local community about any concerns they want to raise. Dream Chasers: PC Washbrook and PC Mohamud have attended Dream Chasers Youth Club and spoke to the young people who attended.
Now onto some crimes of note: Criminal Damage: There have been some recent reports for criminal damage within Bordesley Green. This has included damage to a residence or motor vehicles. Criminal damage is the intentional or reckless damage of property belonging to another person. For local residents of Bordesley Green, we encourage CCTV to be installed at residential properties/dash cams incorporated into vehicles. This allows police to have access to evidence which could lead to the identification of offenders, and increases the likelihood of achieving a positive outcome. Theft: There have been several reports of theft within Bordesley Green. This has included thefts from vehicles, and from the person. Please ensure that all valuables are stored in safe locations, not left inside a vehicle, as this can attract offenders. Additionally, take the extra time to close bags and zip up pockets as some offenders can easily slip items out without the owner realising. And finally, make sure vehicles are left locked/secured when unattended.
Please report any suspicious activity to police! If you see someone behaving in an unusual manner, checking multiple vehicle doors or acting suspiciously around homes in your area, please contact the police as soon as you can.
The Bordesley Green Neighbourhood Team will be planning more events in the near future, and until next time – please keep yourselves safe! Have a lovely weekend.
