Red Route Issues |

|
Good evening, All,
I hope everyone is getting ready for the cold weather and dark nights! One way you can get ready for this, is by keeping yourself safe around roads and traffic. I want to make you all aware and bring your attention to Red Routes. These routes are lined with double red lines across the side of certain areas.
These routes have been identified and marked by your local council with guidance from traffic safety, as high-risk areas of traffic accidents. At NO point should you: The only vehicles that can stop on double red lines are Emergency workers while responding to an emergency or Police officers when they are carrying out legitimate operational duties or emergency activity.
Taxi vehicles CAN stop for a moment to pick up and drop off passengers. Blue Badge holders CAN NOT park on double red lines. Only if dedicated spaces are clearly displayed to do so.
An increasing number of drivers have been parking on these lines. Practically in the Gallagher Retail Park and on the Foleshill Road.
If found to park on these red lines in a private place. Civil action can be sought with a Penalty Charge Notice ranging from £50 to £160. If parked on double red lines in a public place. Police can use Statutory Powers to immediately tow the vehicle and issue a Fixed Penalty Notice. Which will result in a fine and points against your license.
These red lines are placed for your safety. Please adhere to them!
Have a great evening, all.
